4 Years Later...

Mamama passed away at 12:01am, Dec. 1, 2006. November 30th was a very long day for all of us who were with her and although her passing came as somewhat of a relief to us because we knew she was no longer in pain, it was still very hard to let her go. She is still missed every day and for every birthday my kids have and for every holiday where she is not here, I know that she is watching us. I just wish my children had her as a great-grandmother; I wish I stil had her as a grandmother. She was actually more like another parent than she was a grandmother and maybe that was why letting go was/is so hard. Anyway, I came across this passage and it made me think of her and the day she left this earth:

"Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."
Psalm 30:5

Rock-n-Roll 1/2 Marathon!!!

Well, as some of you may know, I just ran in my very first 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday. I have been training for 8 months to run this 13.1 mile race and I have fallen in love with running. Luckily one of my best friends is a VERY avid runner (a pro, actually) and she not only ran it with me, but made pretty darn good coach too! Mindy and I had so much fun, made GREAT time, and can't wait to run our next one!!! A BIG thanks to Davin who has gotten used to my obession with running and helped me with the kids so I could squeeze in extra runs!!! Mom and Dad have watched the kids many times for me to while I was training and everyone else has just had to listen to me go on and on about getting ready for this race, so thanks for putting up with me! It was all worth it!!! Enjoy the pics from my very first race!
Love to all,
-S:)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month :)

I took the kids to New Braunfels yesterday for the PINK HEALS Tour yesterday at Landa Park to support Breast Cancer awareness and we had a great time! Jason, John, and the rest of the NBFD organized this and raised so much money for such a good cause :)
This post is dedicated to Allyson Hancock Clynch, Cindy Hancock, Susie Kroll, my Aunt Joyce, Casey's Mom, Jason's Mom, John's grandmother, Linda Wright, Dr. Jeanne Reesman, and ALL of the other brave women who have fought, are fighting, and will continue to fight this disease.
Love to all,
S:)
