Baby Shower, Birthday, and Hospital Visits!

We had a very interesting weekend and start to our week! First of all my baby shower was fantastic! All my girls did way too much and it was just beautiful! They shower was at Angel's house and Ashley, Denisha, Angel, and Erica threw the shower for me! The food was fabulous, the cake was super yummy, and the decorations were too cute! Peyton got sooooo many wonderful things! She's clothed for her first year of life I'm sure! The girls got me a gorgeous Coach Diaper bag that I will use as my purse too! They just did way too much! I am truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
Now for the bad news....I started feeling really nauseated toward the end of the shower, but I thought it was because I had either gotten to hot, or eaten too much chocolate, or I was maybe having one of my dizzy spells I get sometimes. We had to sit at Angel's for a bit before I felt well enough to drive, but we finally got home and I laid down on the couch. I started having regular contractions around 6 (they were coming every 5 minutes and lasting about 2 minutes a piece). So Denisha started keeping track of them and then all of a sudden I started throwing up everywhere, including on Denisha! I threw up about 6 times in a row while Davin talked to the doctor who of course said to go to the hospital! Long story short, I was in and out of the hospital from Saturday through last night twice receiving fluids and getting shots to make my contractions stop. The dehydration was causing me to go into labor. Apparently I caught a very nasty stomach bug that later made Hayden, Pat, Angel, Josh, my mom and Lord knows who else sick! I had to take yesterday and today off work but I should be able to go back tomorrow. The baby is doing just fine thank God, and until I'm 100% I'm ordered to stick to a liquid/soft solid diet. I haven't really eaten in about 4 days because everything is going through me and I've lost almost 6 pounds. But I haven't thrown up in about two days now, just still really weak and nauseated, but I think I'm doing better. We thought for a little bit that we were going to have Peyton on my birthday since they couldn't get my contractions to stop, but luckily that didn't happen. We go back to the doctor on Monday so I'll update you then! In the meantime here are some pics from my baby shower/ birthday weekend!

No News.....

Well, I went to my appointment with my OBGYN yesterday and the lab had NOT sent my sono results over so we won't know anything about the size of the baby until I go to my appointment next Wednesday (Feb. 25)! I'm so impatient! I want to know all the details of the sono, and then I want to know when my inducement date will be, and I want to know all of that next Wednesday! I'm not demanding at all..... Anyway I'm feeling pretty good, just uncomfortable, but I think all pregnant women must feel this way three weeks before giving birth! Hayden's been having some trouble with his allergies this week, but I think he's getting better (not that it has been slowing him down). He's so funny to just watch and listen to; he comes up with the craziest things to say and the funniest faces to make. He's such a cutie pie! Hope you are all having a great week!

Sono Today

We had our last sonogram today, but we don't know the results yet because the doctor has to read me the results at my appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to hear how big they think the baby is! Also, Davin painted a lot of the bunny mural on two of Peyton's walls this past weekend and hopefully he will get to finish sometime this week! I'm SUPER excited for my baby shower this coming Saturday that is being given to me by my BEST FRIENDS in the world: Denisha, Ashley, Angel, and Erica! I can't wait to spend the afternoon with family and friends and relax and visit with everyone....and see what kind of FOOD they have too...hahahaha! The guys are throwing Davin a "Diapers and Dudes" shower Saturday too, so I'm sure that will be interesting....I have visions of beer, Rock Band video game, and did I say beer? Ha! Just kidding; it's so nice of everyone to do all of this for us; we are so lucky to have such wonderful friends! We love you guys!
I'll update you tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning after I go to the doc tomorrow at 4:30. Hopefully I will be able to say for SURE when we will have the baby by then! Fingers crossed!

I can't believe there will be FOUR babies at Mimi and Papaw's later this year! Holy smokes! Little girls are so fun....so I'm told anyway....and so I shall soon find out!
Congrats again!

Pain Doc Appointment and Happy Friday the 13th!

I had my second appointment with the pain doctor today and it went very well. He now believes that I have fractured more than two ribs and also ruptured more than one disc since the area where most of my pain is is bigger than he thought. He said most of my left side is as hard as a rock because the injuries are causing my muscles to spasm as a result, but I told him that although I am in a lot of pain, I have somewhat gotten used to it since this has been going on for about 6 weeks now. I told him I am in the most pain at night and he said that is to be expected. His course of action is to put me on the strongest dose of vicodine that he can, so now instead of taking two every night, I will only take one. In addition, he wrote a prescription for a pain patch that I am to wear every day that he says will serve as a local anesthetic. He would really like to provide me with weekly injections, but the injections contain a steriod that is obviously not safe for the baby. The pain meds and the patch should get me through to the labor and birth of the baby and then if my back doesn't start to get better a couple of weeks after I have Peyton, he wants to see me again and order some xrays and an MRI. I think once the baby gets here everything will be fine. He just told me that for the next three weeks I need to take it easy: don't lift anything over 10 lbs, try not to bend over (especially to my left), no strenuous exercise--but my elliptical is ok to still use since it's low impact, etc. This is the part of pregnancy that I don't like because my body just can't handle the extra weight at this point and I have to just do nothing until the baby gets here. Those of you who know how active I am and how much I LOVE to work-out, know that these kinds of "doctor's orders" drive me nuts! But I'll do what I'm told just in order to get Miss Peyton here safely in a few weeks....but then I'm starting my two-a-days dang it! Ha! I hope you all have some really creepy plans for Friday the 13th tonight (Hayden and I are going to watch a spooky Scooby-Doo!) and I hope that everyone has a nice Valentines Day tomorrow!
Talk to you soon!

Update on Peyton Sophia

Davin and I went for my 35-week appointment yesterday and everything is just going wonderfully with the baby. She is positioned, but still has not dropped although the doctor thinks she will sometime in week 36 or 37. Our doctor ordered a sonogram for this Monday at 8:00am to check the baby's weight and length, so that will be very exciting to find out! I am now going weekly to the doctor so she can start checking my progression towards labor and she says as long as the baby seems ready and my body seems ready, once I hit 38 weeks, she will induce my labor whenever. I have to be induced again for two reasons: the number ONE reason being that I have Group B Strep and I must be in the hospital receiving penicillin intravenously when my water breaks in order to safeguard the baby from the bacteria, and number two because I am having such back problems with my two broken ribs and my thoracic ruptured disc. SO.....that's why I'm being induced in case any of you are wondering. I will hit 38 weeks on March 5 so I'm shooting for an inducement date of Monday, March 9!!! Her birth date would be 03/09/09...isn't that neat?!?! I wanted to try to make it to March 18 since that is her Papaw's birthday, but I just can't. I don't think Papaw will mind though. :)I think that would be a neat birth date for her since Hayden's is pretty cool too (01/27/07)! I should be able to confirm that new due date within the next week or so, once I go back to the doctor and she assesses my progress. I have my pain management appointment tomorrow at 9:15 for my back so I'll let you all know how that goes too! We will also find out tomorrow whether we are going to have another niece or our first nephew since Amber and Carson will find out the sex of their baby who is due on July 10! LOTS of babies coming this year! Hope you are all doing well!

We had our maternity/family photos made this past Saturday at the Botanical Gardens in San Antonio and they look soooo great! The photographer is AMAZING and she added a sampling of our pics on her blog. I have posted the site for you below. We got all of the proof this morning and Davin and I are currently weeding through them; so far we only have about FIFTY favorites! I'll post more for you later. Enjoy!

No Strep for Mommy!

Yay! My Strep Test came back negative, which is great! However, the doctor here at work was very concerned with my blood pressure and pulse being very high and she also said I was dehydrated again! Jeez! I SWEAR I am drinking fluids NON-STOP because I'm always thirsty, so I don't know how I keep getting dehydrated. My BP was 154/93 and my pulse was 128 so she made me sit there for a few minutes and took it again and it was 151/90 and 123 pulse. She said I really NEED to get my blood pressure down, so I need to try to stay away from anything that stresses me out and that I need to relax! Hahahahaha! Ok; I have a two year old and full-time job, stress just kind of comes with the territory, you know? I'll try though and then I'll just start taking my blood pressure more regularly. Anyway, the good news is NO STREP!!! So I'll just be staying home with Hayden tomorrow while he recovers from it and hope he doesn't give it to me in the meantime. Poor baby!

Hayden's 2-year Appointment

Davin took Hayden to the doctor this morning for his 2-year check-up and immunizations. He is 35.6 inches tall (almost 3 feet) which puts him in the 85% for height, he weighs 29 lbs which puts him in the 55% for weight and is in the 95% for head size! The doctor also told Davin that Hayden is at the age where you can double his height right now and that's how tall he should end up so Hayden will probably be right at 6 feet tall!! Wow!!!! Then she wanted to do a Strep test on Hayden since he has had a little bit of fever for the past couple of days and guess what???? He was POSITIVE for Strep!!! Now I have to go get tested here at work at 2:30 today to see if I have it and I have to stay home with Hayden tomorrow because Davin will be out of town til late tomorrow night for Friday for work and Hayden can't go to daycare until Friday when he is less likely to be contagious. One of the Contracts Managers tested positive for Strep last week and missed two days and another Contracts Manager has been sick since last week and so have her kids so I BET I brought it home to him since he hasn't been to daycare since last Wednesday! Jeez!! One thing after another. I feel fine other than sounding like Demi Moore, but because of my horrible allergies and getting bronchitis and tonsillitis like three times in the last two months I've had a cough and my throat has been hurting, but i haven't noticed that it has been any worse lately. Poor little man!!! Well I guess Hayden and I will have a "Mommy and Me" day tomorrow! Hey, as long as everyone feels fine for our family/maternity portraits on Saturday afternoon I can deal with it! Well, I will let you guys know how my test comes out after I go at 2:30. Until then, all of you should get out your lysol and spray everything around you, put some anti-bacterial gel on your hands, and pop some extra vitamin C, just as a preventative measure! Hahahahaha!

Update on Mommy's Back

I forgot that I haven't posted anything about my back since I have seen a few doctors about it or really after I went to the hospital for it on New Years Day. After re-injuring it again a couple of weeks after I hurt it the first time (how did I hurt it? I coughed!---both times!), my OBGYN wanted me to go see an Orthopedic Surgeon, but I didn't think that would help any since he or she wouldn't be able to test me for anything right now, so I went to see my family doctor last Friday. She sent me immediately to a Pain Management doctor for a "pain test", a diagnosis (if possible), and to see what kind of treatment he could recommend. I really liked him; he seemed very knowledgeable and was able to give us some kind of answers. He did a pain test and determined that I have broken rib numbers 11 and 12, and that I also have a "thorasic ruptured disc" in the left upper part of my back. He spoke with my OBGYN and they have decided that I need to remain on Vicodine until the baby is born, but only to take it at night to help with the pain from the day so I can sleep (which is how often I had been taking them anyway). They also decided that from now until the baby is born, I need to see the pain doc every other week for evaluation and either "pain patch" therapy and/or some kind of injections into my muscle. My next appt with him is February 13. So that's good news! I think we have a handle on it all now, so we're good to go! I don't have any doctor appointments this week, but I have my OBGYN appt next Wednesday the 11th and then my pain appt on Friday the 13th (spooooky-ha!). Hayden goes to the doctor this Wednesday for his 2-year shots and Davin will take him to get those THANK GOD! I hate taking him to get shots; it just breaks my heart! I am really eager to see how big he is though! We measured him on his birthday last week and he was just one inch shy of being 3 feet tall!! My big boy! Hayden's daycare is closed until Thursday so he is "working with Daddy" until then! Today they are on a Texas road trip to visit some of the ranches Daddy consults for so Daddy can do some collections for his AI work! So everybody say a little prayer for Davin! Hahahahaha! Well, that's all the excitement going on in our household for now! Talk to you soon!
